JIM CASSIDY, Studios Manager and Technical Support Specialist,
M.F.A. C.W. Post University. James Cassidy is a photographer, printmaker, and blacksmith whose work deals with time, memory, and beauty. He is a black and white darkroom specialist who is also deeply involved in non-toxic printmaking. He was one of the first teachers involved with the Unseen America Project and helped establish the core curriculum. This project provided cameras and photographic instruction to normally unseen or marginalized workers and allowed them to document their lives. The Unseen America Project has grown to two hundred classes and the traveling show of the resulting work has been seen nation wide. As Studios Manager he is responsible for the 4th Floor Staller Center Art Studios. He is the technician for Printmaking as well as Photography and is also responsible for checking out Art Department digital still and digital video equipment for particular classes. As part of his position he is the department Environmental Coordinator and oversees proper material usage including waste disposal.
