The Association of American Editorial Cartoonists is a professional association
concerned with promoting the interests of staff, freelance and student editorial
cartoonists in the United States. The AAEC sponsors the Cartoons for the Classroom
program designed to aid educators at all levels in teaching history, economics, social
studies and current events. They have an annual convention in June to give member
cartoonists an opportunity to meet and consider issues through panel discussions and
guest speakers. Between conventions, cartoonists can discuss issues on a daily basis
through a members-only email list-serve. Annual dues for membership are $150 for a
general/associate membership and $65 for a student membership.
